After delving into an in-depth case history, which serves to ascertain the root causes of your illness and identifies all the contributing factors that may be keeping you unwell, a bespoke nutritional plan will be set up following a functional medicine paradigm. There are many factors that could be contributing to symptoms, such as nutrient deficiencies, processed eating, long-term dieting, under-eating or binge eating, eating insufficient or poor quality protein, carbohydrates and damaged fats, digestive problems, obesity or being overweight, blood-sugar imbalances, chronic inflammation, hormonal imbalances or poor detoxification just to name a few, and these will all be considered when setting up the plan.

The plan will then be discussed with the patient to make sure that it is attainable and suitable. Possible red flags and side effects will also be identified. Patients are educated so as to empower them to better achieve the best success and outcome. The plan may also include specific dietary protocols, meal plans, referral for laboratory testing and/ or functional testing, supplement suggestions and lifestyle modifications. After this, follow-up sessions will be set up to check on on the patient’s progress, and updates and changes can be made to the plan accordingly.
