Granola & Seed Mix
Easy to mix, low-carb granola mix, that is packed with protein, healthy fats, low in sugar and high in fibre that will keep you satisfied until lunchtime.
Ingredients
- 100g (3.5oz or ⅔ cup) sunflower & pumpkin seeds
- 100g (3.5oz or ⅔ cup) hemp seeds
- 100g (3.5oz or ⅔ cup) milled flax seeds
- 200g (7 oz or 2 cups) mixed nuts (containing walnuts & Brazil nuts)
- 200g (7 oz or 2cups) low-sugar granola
Instructions
1. Mix all the ingredients together and seal in an airtight container.
Notes
Try to source organic ingredients where possible. Traditionally, granola can be high in sugar, so I've created a healthier, low-carb version for you to enjoy, which is very easy to prepare. Brazil nuts are an amazing source of selenium, in fact, just 3 nuts per day provide the daily amount of this vital mineral which acts as an antioxidant and is vital for thyroid functioning. In addition, the various nuts and seeds are a great source of omega 3 which helps to lower inflammation and helps provide the building blocks for hormone production. The seeds, especially flax, contain phytoestrogens which also help to balance hormones.
